Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ)

PuntaCana International Airport (PUJ) is a privately owned commercial airport belonging to the Puntacana Group. It is the airport with the highest passenger traffic and destinations in the Dominican Republic and second in the Caribbean. It was designed by the architect Oscar Imbert and inaugurated in December 1983. Its construction is characterized by a traditional Dominican style with outdoor terminals and roofs covered with gray leaves.

It became the world’s first private international airport. Today, our airport has direct services to 98 different cities around the world, making Punta Cana one of the most accessible and visited destinations in the Caribbean. It currently has 75,000 square meters of construction, two runways, two passenger terminals with capacity for 23 wide-body and narrow-body aircraft simultaneously.

The PuntaCana International Airport (PUJ) receives all types of plans with tourists from Europe, Canada, North, South and Central America and the Caribbean. In addition, it has a VIP terminal for private and executive flights with an FBO style operation (fixed base operator). Likewise, it has capacity for small planes, helicopters, business jets in its national terminal for local flights, and a cargo area for import and export.
